Alec L. McEachern was born in Boston, Massachusetts on September 10, 1964, and raised in Portsmouth, New Hampshire where he now resides with his wife and their four children. Alec attended the University of New Hampshire and graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. Following college, Alec served as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1987-1990, serving as a Rifle Platoon Commander and Executive Officer with Bravo Company, First Battalion, Ninth Marines.

In 1994, Alec graduated with honors from Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts and was admitted as a member of the New Hampshire Bar and the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire. In addition, Alec is also a member of the United States Tax Court.

From 1994-1996, Alec served as a New Hampshire Superior Court Law Clerk following which he joined Shaines & McEachern, P.A. In 2001, Alec earned a Masters in Tax Studies from Boston University School of Law. Alec is engaged in the general practice of law with concentrations in estate planning, probate administration, real estate and tax law.
